Today, the database contains more than 70,000 reports of randomised controlled trials, systematic reviews and clinical practice guidelines, freely available in 17 languages, and accessed in 200+ countries every 10 seconds every day. By bringing quality-rated physiotherapy evidence together in one searchable database, PEDro makes it easier for people around the world to rapidly find research that can inform clinical decisions, education and further research.

Watch this video with the PEDro Founders as they reflected on PEDro for the database’s 25th anniversary or listen to the conversation on PEDroCast.

More than a database

Over the past 27 years, PEDro has continued to develop resources that not only help people to find evidence, but also how to understand it. Resources available through PEDro include:

PEDro Scale

PEDro Training Program

PEDro World-Wide Journal Club

Evidence summaries

PEDroCast

Evidence in your inbox

Skill building campaigns

The PEDro Community
Reaching this milestone has only been possible because of the extraordinary contributions from so many people. Over the past 27 years, PEDro has brought together a global community united by a shared commitment to evidence-based physiotherapy.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed along the way, including our volunteers, supporters and staff, whose time, expertise and commitment have helped make PEDro what it is today. From identifying and ratings trials, to translating resources and supporting the ongoing development of PEDro, this international global community has played a vital role in building and sustaining PEDro.

For more than two decades, PEDro has been sustained by the generosity of physiotherapy organisations and volunteers worldwide. Their support has enabled millions of users to access high-quality evidence and has helped to advance evidence-based practice across the globe.

Today, however, PEDro faces an uncertain financial future. Continued support is essential if we are to maintain and further develop this vital resource. If PEDro has contributed to your clinical practice, teaching, research or professional development, we encourage you to advocate for its future. This could mean contacting your professional association, employer, university, or other physiotherapy organisations to ask how they could support PEDro and to encourage continued or increased financial contributions. Every organisation that invests in PEDro helps ensure that the global physiotherapy community retains free access to high-quality evidence. Together, we can secure the future of PEDro for clinicians, researchers, educators, and students worldwide.

Donate to PEDro here: https://give.sydney.edu.au/pedro

As we celebrate 27 years of PEDro, we look forward to continuing our mission of making high-quality physiotherapy evidence accessible to clinicians, researchers, educators, students and policy makers around the world.

The post Celebrating 27 years of PEDro appeared first on PEDro.

We are celebrating an exciting milestone – 27 years of the Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro)!
