🎙️ PEDroCast Season 2 is here!
We’re kicking off a new season of PEDro’s Top Trials with short, bite-size episodes highlighting some of the most influential physiotherapy research. Perfect for a quick listen and a refresher on why these studies still matter today.
Our first episode goes back to 1958 with the BMJ-published trial “Physiotherapy for Bell’s Palsy” by Mosforth and Taverner.
Why does a trial still matter?
It was one of the first randomised controlled trials in physiotherapy.
It evaluated physiotherapy for facial palsy with 1-year follow-up (even today’s it’s difficult to do long-term follow-up in this area).
It found electrical stimulation is not recommended for facial palsy, raising questions about cost-effectiveness. Conclusions later supported by further research.
Listen to the episode now.
Thanks for joining us for Season 2 of PEDroCast!
