What’s it like to be a PEDro Rater – Dennis Boer
To celebrate #PEDroTurns25, we asked our PEDro Raters why they volunteer to rate articles on PEDro.
Dennis Boer, Geriatric physiotherapy, PhD student
How long have you been a Rater?
I have been rating scientific articles for PEDro since December 2022, so it’s now almost 2 years.
What do you enjoy about rating?
By rating, I stay up-to-date with the latest scientific publications in my field. Additionally, I learn useful insights for when I need to write my own research (and sometimes I learn what not to do!)
Why did you start rating?
During my PhD program, I connected with a Dutch researcher who was in contact with the PEDro database. He informed me about the PEDro Rater network. Additionally, I’m interested in international collaboration and the development of physiotherapy. I am from the Netherlands, and my partner is from South America (Argentina). I find the various ways our profession is practiced, both nationally and internationally, fascinating, and I believe we have a lot to learn from each other.
